The confusing part to me is the phrase “pull up your collar”. Isn’t that supposed to be “pop your collar” to show pride in something? Don’t you normally have to be wearing something that has a collar to do that?

Miss Edwards naturally rolls with it on a daily basis.

The Miss Edwards character connected me to some wonderful people. In order to research life on wheels, I was challenged to participate in wheelchair rugby! Let me tell you, it is a wild and difficult game. I didn’t have a chance!

Good advice. If you can’t avoid it, own it.

I had the blues because I had no shoes . . . ’til I met a man on the street who had no feet.

Dawn looks tougher than her brother. Then again, being more macho than Brian Enjo was not a high hurdle to overcome in the first place.

Who criticizes a person for being in a wheelchair?

She has to in order to be taken seriously as a teacher.

Glad the lecture was more about “get over yourself”, than “you poor baby”.

A good life lesson.

Finally, someone is giving her good advice. I should have expected it would be Miss Edwards. She’s always pretty smart.

Did anyone else notice that even with that “cool” haircut, mini skirt and heels, Dawn is still wearing a shapeless, bulky sweater?

Miss Edwards happens to inspire lot of us.

Miss Edwards has it a lot worse than you do, Dawn. Not just the physical handicap, but she probably gets sick and tired of all the looks of pity she gets from people that she doesn’t know.

I never faulted my kids about their hair styles, knowing that time would cure any miscues(unlike tattoos and piercings), my wife,on the other hand…

Well, there you go. I guess my mom should have waved away all my problems because of the Great Depression.

I thought she meant something on her was always shaved wrong.

Of course, it would help Miss Edwards if she did not roll her wheelchair with her eyes closed!
