Too right; Republicans have mastered the Art of getting people to vote against their own self-interests., i.e., guns for the gun nuts, tax breaks for the wealthy.

before we go bashing Red state folks, lets see how well the blue states are doing and why with all their issues, do they keep re-electing the same kind of people.

What if snake oil is the only thing on offer?

US politics in a nutshell.

Oil from rendered Chinese water snakes was brought over by Chinese people brought to work as railway builders. Apparently it was rich in Omega 3 and pretty good for you. American entrepreneurs started rendering any old snake that was available to sell Snake Oil. It was not the same. → Now, Snake Oil means something that is a worthless scam.

You could try to determine which audiences have the most fools by counting snake oil sponsors.
