Caulfield’s disingenuousness is getting to be irritating. He really should be moved on to a ‘gifted students’ programme and let the normal students have a better chance at a good classroom environment.
Still doesn’t explain anything. How is “laundry list” more descriptive than just “list”? It’s like when people say “food chain” instead of just “chain”.

I believe that it is now called “outsourcing.”

Huh. I hadn’t thought about where that came from. Nowadays, I think it’s called “spreadsheet”.

Caulfield, I’m surprised you haven’t figured out the basic reason for all of this.

Does your laundry list to port… or to starboard?

There was never a world when “everybody” sent their laundry to a commercial cleaner. Not even close. Not even within the realm of possibility.

Maybe the ant farm can consume it.

But commercial cleaners cost, Caulfield. Commercial homework-doers even more so.

Mrs. Olsen said SHE is farming out the homework to HIM.

In this instance he is the commercial cleaner and must accomplish everything on Mrs. Olsen’s laundry list!

OK, Caulfield, what’s the derivation of ‘farm out’? Also, is that where ‘far out’ came from?
