My stepdad was a crossing guard. He got hit one time by what he said was a van full of Hippies.

Guessing he had the sign turned the wrong way.
No one pays attention to the Lollipop Man anymore!
And they’d like the sign back because little Timmy and Suzy both got hit by a ca this week.
someone didn’t stop I gather. We had an epidemic of people passing stopped school buses for a while. Execrable.
