Happens in dealing with the public every day. Some people know that if they just make themselves obnoxious enough, they’ll get what they want just so they’ll go away, even if it’s against policy.
Ah, yes, I call this the “nuisance method” of problem solving. When people aren’t doing something they should, and asking politely isn’t getting me anywhere, I occasionally resort to just doing everything I can think of to make myself a pain in their neck. (And I can think of a lot.) Eventually they realize that just fixing the problem would actually be easier than putting up with me. I try to reserve this for serious problems, and I always try the polite approach first. But if you don’t want to play nice, don’t expect me to.

And yet when I demand that it snows every winter, it hardly does! I’ll try again this winter though.

How about —for the unicorn of the AWARD ceremony’s sake— keep your ideas to yourself, Phoebe Grizelda Howell?

Good luck with that, Phoebe. Those stuck-up snobs already had to deal with your meddling for one day.

If the statue looked to much like Marigold, would she be caught in the same trap as seeing herself in a mirror?
