I once worked briefly at a job doing phone surveys, and I remember one where I was trying to call dentists at their offices so to speak with them directly for the matter. In that instance, it was more like five out of five dentists never answered their phones. Best case, I’d get their secretary, who’d just say they weren’t available, try again later. I don’t think I ever actually spoke with a signal dentist the whole time I was working that particular project…
Kind of like the bikes described by Guareschi, was it? in impoverished villages of postwar Italy. So-called American braking system was no brake at all, you just sit on the rear wheel until it stops.
