This might be a topic for debate. Would grandma prefer to hear that their grandchild got 90 (B+ for Americans) on her math test , or, would grandma rather hear whether the son-in-law got a new receptionist at the office?
Oh I doubt that very much…None of my elders grew up building dragsters on the west coast in the mid fifties and early sixties….Nor hung out in bars in Olangapo, Sasebo, Yokosuka,, Luaird Rd in Hong Kong, or ever met “Fifi”…
In panel 2, I may be reading more into the look on Grandma’s face, knowing her problems, but I wonder if it would be OK to have news repeated, when her memory isn’t very good.
