This might be a topic for debate. Would grandma prefer to hear that their grandchild got 90 (B+ for Americans) on her math test , or, would grandma rather hear whether the son-in-law got a new receptionist at the office?
Oh I doubt that very much…None of my elders grew up building dragsters on the west coast in the mid fifties and early sixties….Nor hung out in bars in Olangapo, Sasebo, Yokosuka,, Luaird Rd in Hong Kong, or ever met “Fifi”…
In panel 2, I may be reading more into the look on Grandma’s face, knowing her problems, but I wonder if it would be OK to have news repeated, when her memory isn’t very good.

Ellie reads all the “right” books/articles. But somehow, they never apply to her.

Most teenagers tend to hide in their bedrooms, as opposed to answering the door…

Way to go Ellie, at least she was happy to see them and interact with them, what a turn off!

Kids usually pick up their bad habits from their parents.

Legit, Ellie is being obnoxious here. I should think it would be lovely to have a teenage grandchild who actually enjoys talking to you.

I think most grandparents are happy when their grandkids greet them with that much excitement and deserved pride in what they have done.

The urge to share the little improvements to elders in the family is in the genes, I guess.

I’m surprised Elly hadn’t already told them all that in the car on the way home.
