There’s one born every minute

I guess Monty doesn’t “know much about art” either lol (I’m assuming we’re supposed to believe that’s a Picasso left sitting on the ground!)

Oh yeah. Definitely one of the clown paintings by artist and comedian Red Skelton.

Funny coincidence. My wife and I were at an estate sale years ago. One of the paintings for sale was a certified Picasso lithograph, according to the tag on the back. We bought it for $35.00 and had it appraised to confirm its authenticity. Worth a lot more than we paid for it, that’s for sure.

Real subtle, Monty. :P

I often read or hear about big time buys at tag sales. One of interest was a duck decoy. It turned out to have been made by Paul Revere of all people.

The art of the deal, Priceless! Is there a sequel to this?

Monty is the real sucker. There is a painting of Elvis on velvet on the other fence that he could’ve bought for $3…

I’m disappointed in Monty taking advantage of an old man but then again Monty is so ignorant of art that he took a stupid clown painting over the Picasso look-a-like. The laughs on you Monty.

$3 for a frame that size is about right.

He has a lot of paintings there, not to know anything about art.

You can almost see the “paint-by-the” numbers bleeding through. :)

A Red Skelton clown original IS worth a small fortune. Good eye. That Picasso is also valuable if that’s what it’s supposed to be….

My wife and I had a high school teacher who became a successful artist. He gave us some paintings and we also bought some. I’ve seen some of his originals listed at auction house websites for $5,000 – $6,000, but then I saw one with a strikethrough price of $6,000 reduced to $95. As I learned in Contracts class, the value of a thing is the price a willing seller and willing buyer agree on. Appraisals and listed prices are almost meaningless.

I’m assuming the flowers are a lost Van Gough and there’s an obvious Picasso on the ground, but I don’t think crying clowns were done by anyone particularly famous

The old guy gets rid of clutter and Monty has a short-lived three dollar adventure. It’s a win-win.

He is it has been in it for years and he don’t know s**t.

Bad boy! I’ve seen nickel and dimeing, but that is penny pinching at a different level.

Given Monty’s profound knowledge of Art (ahem!), I’ll just say that that was three dollars well spent, loser!

A Hunter Biden masterpiece. Some Chinese Communist will pay a million for it.
