This was one my greatest disappointments. I admire Bob Dole, but when he finally ran for Prez, he somehow lost his confidence and let himself be handled. He should have ran as himself and asked, who do you want for prez, that guy or me? He may not have won, but he would have done a lot better and kept his self respect.
We need more people like Dole in our government (minus the part where he ran for the presidency).
One of my other great disappointments is that GHW Bush didn’t pick Liz for VP. She’d have been perfect and Clinton would have been an also-ran. Plus the GOP might have been able to nominate the first woman president.

We had a surplus then, most wanted to pay down the debt, then Reaganomics 2.0 kicked in with Schrub.

All that good stuff and they still lost to Clinton. I still wonder how Ross Perot would have done as President.

True Fact: Bob Dole met and became friends with Daniel Inouye at a rehab center after WWII. I would have preferred Senator Inouye as POTUS.

Reading and watching U.S. historical documentaries and noted that campaign promises, don’t change.

Nothing changes they promise the middle free stuff, so they will vote for them, then make the middle pay for free stuff given to the top and bottom.
