Well this is one of the people who took the 10 or so digits of the GPS coordinates of his cell phone serious. Ever figured out what say 41.987654321N means on the last digit? Well it is less than a micron (millionth of a meter) sorry I was brought up metric.
I’ve always wondered, when I see a distance sign, if that is the distance to the nearest boundary of the named city or to the city center? I know, for most places their size makes it moot, but for a large city? Who knows?
This might be funny if the towns were identified to us as having a large population of bean counters or scientists or mathematicians — people who actually measure things very precisely. Otherwise, meh.

Obviously NOT Interstate 10 in California, otherwise those figures would be constantly changing.
People in San Francisco can wave to their neighbors in LA as they float by on their way to Alaska.

Assuming Baytown, TX , Wilcox, TX and Interstate 10, the sign must be somewhere near Houston, TX
drycurt almost 3 years ago
Neither Baytown nor Wilcox are on I-10. Distances are about right for near Pearland, TX, south of Houston.

Accuracy counts, when you carry just enough fuel to make it to the next gas station.

I means to the center of town. Now what does the comic mean?
