Ikea disciples.

Grandpa probably had a whole set of Allen wrenches of different sizes.

These kids may have only seen them in one or two sizes – depending on what item or kit it cam with.

Grandpa may have called them hex keys.

Now they’re all standard sized : IKEA

When all you have is a hammer, everything looks like a nail.

Pre IKEA era!

all he needs now is….a pair of Vice Grips……..

My brother has some of my grandfather’s auto mechanics tools that predate the Philips (aka cross point type 1) screw driver.

If you go through a lot of hammers each month, I don’t think it necessarily means you’re a hard worker. It may just mean that you have a lot to learn about proper hammer maintenance. -Jack Handy

The Ikea era….

This guy is a tool.

Neither of then are screwed.

The reason those are still around is that they were made that way. I have one of my father’s old Craftsman screwdrivers, which has outlasted dozens of lesser ones, including the new Craftsman ones.

Lots of retro tools. A hammer is not one of them!

Slotted screwdrivers and slotted screws to the scrap heap!

When all you have is a hammer…you’re screwed.

I prefer to use my Sonic Screwdriver, thank you very much.

In have several Phillip’s screwdrivers, and Allen wrenches. I have to remember to return them to Phil & Al.
