Wait a minute, boys! You need to use the money to repair the warehouse, not for all those luxuries! What do you need a Cadillac for when you can’t even drive?
I was just about to go to bed without my nightly dose of Ten Cats. I worked hard yesterday – people were shopping and messing up the Christmas department faster than I could straighten it up.
On the good side, though, I printed out my pay stub yesterday (we get paid on Wednesday this week instead of Thursday because of the holiday). My check was so much higher than I expected it to be, I nearly fell over. We recently go a raise of $1 an hour, which applies to all associates. We were told at the time that the raise was taking the place of our quarterly “My Share” bonuses. The bonus can amount from as little as nothing at all to $500 or even more. We usually seem to get between $150 and $400 (it varies a LOT). So we were told that the bonus we got 3 months ago was going to be our last one. Not so! We got a bonus on this week’s check. My bonus was a little over $500! I was in a pretty good mood after seeing that! Now that I got the new roof on my house – all paid for and everything, and I got the downstairs bathroom fixed and the ceiling in the front room fixed and the new water heater that I got this year, my project for spring will be replacing a couple windows. How many windows I replace will depend on how much it all costs. But $500 is a good addition to my window replacement fund!
It is definitely illegal to scratch on the hood of a moving vehicle. I believe it’s California Vehicle Code 21957. (I could be wrong about that.) :) :) :)
I’ve got to remember to read this at night, and not fall asleep before I do. Unpacked 10 boxes yesterday and tried to find room for it all. I unpacked a punch bowl and cups! Why did I keep this!
My SIL came and set up my Christmas tree, now I have to find time to put on the ornaments. We had two 10 foot trees in the PNW, I decorated one in a white and sparkle. I called it the Bling Tree. Dale hung our traditional ornaments on the other. I now have a 9ft tree and all the ornaments have to go on this one. It’s going to take me a couple of days at least.
Oh boys, the intake from the telethon goes for needed repairs to the warehouse NOT for your furry fleet. And I’d suggest a litter box or two toward the rear (of the vehicle).
I have a question – sorry not related to the strip, but I know we have some tech smart people out there who can maybe answer this.
I got my Samsung Galaxy Pro XCover phone from Walmart a while back. The phone belongs to Walmart, but I can use it for personal use (no, I won’t put any personal information on it, like banking information or anything – just want to be able to text and make phone calls to family). My brother, Paul (the one who did my home repairs this year), has put me on his family plan so I will have unlimited call and text for just $20 a month. So, AT&T sent me a SIM card and I installed that in the phone. But when I try to make a call, I get a message saying that I am not connected to a network. I have never had a cellphone before (just the pay-as-you-go flip phone, which barely counts as a cell phone, since all it can do is make and receive phone calls). Is there something I need to do to get the phone working? Do I have to go to the AT&T store to get it connected? The nearest AT&T store is very close to my Walmart. In fact, it’s in the parking lot of the mall where I have lunch with friends once a month. But when I called them today to ask if I need to see them to get the phone working, they put me on hold for over an hour before I finally hung up. I swear, they had no intention of taking my call at all, so I’m not anxious to see them in person on my lunch hour tomorrow. They’ve had terrible reviews of poor customer service. I wrote a bad review of my own, stating that the only reason I gave them one star is because that is the lowest rating they allow. I really give them zero stars. Calling AT&T’s customer service number was equally useless.
I also noticed that there is a paddle lock icon on the home screen that shows the paddle lock locked. Does that mean the phone is locked? Could that be the reason I can’t make calls?
Growing up, the guy next door was a retired mechanic. My dad used to go sit and talk to him while he worked on friends’ cars. When he was bored, he’d tinker with my dad’s ’64 Chevy. The day after I got my license at 16, he came over, handed me the keys to his Cadillac and told me to take it for a drive so I’d know what it felt like to drive a “real car.” When he insisted I drive it, I went up to the school about a mile away and right back. I was terrified the whole time someone would run into me and I’d be on the hook for wrecking his car. Thankfully, nothing happened. This was back in the 70’s so the thing was built like a tank (and about as big).
Uh, guys, forget the Cadillacs, what about the warehouse? Isn’t that the whole point of the telethon? On another note, saw a golden crowned kinglet and seven chickadees while out walking today.

And I will NOT be buying a Cadillac!

To KMALTA from last night: Yes, it still works. We just watched a huge Navy Littoral Combat Ship come in and pass by.
