    This is a hare raising event! You’re not getting my spyglasses, nor my artificial eyeballs! Are you cwazy? Nope! Not ever! Shoot me if you will, bang bang, but I won’t give you anything from my graphic arts portfolio either!

    Who let you in? Aren’t you late for a very important date? Don’t you have a watch? It’s time for you to hop to it and take your harebrained idea with you!

    Even pointless distractions can teach us something about physics. I mean, that certainly looks like one of those gyroscopic wheel doohickies. What’s confusing, though, is that it looks like it has two holes for mounting on a wall.

    ‘EPISODE 12B’

    ‘HOW TO RECOGNISE DIFFERENT TREES FROM QUITE A LONG WAY AWAY’

    ‘NO. 1’ ‘THE LARCH’ Photo of a larch tree. Voice OverThe larch. The larch.

    Courtroom: a judge sitting at higher level and a prisoner in the dock.

    Judge Mr Larch, you heard the case for the prosecution. Is there anything you wish to say before I pass sentence?

    Prisoner Well
 I’d just like to say, m’lud, I’ve got a family
 a wife and six kids
 and I hope very much you don’t have to take away my freedom
 because
 well, because m’lud freedom is a state much prized within the realm of civilized society. (slips into Olivier impression) It is a bond wherewith the savage man may charm the outward hatchments of his soul, and soothe the troubled breast into a magnitude of quiet. It is most precious as a blessed balm, the saviour of princes, the harbinger of happiness, yea, the very stuff and pith of all we hold most dear. What frees the prisoner in his lonely cell, chained within the bondage of rude walls, far from the owl of Thebes? What fires and stirs the woodcock in his springe or wakes the drowsy apricot betides? What goddess doth the storm toss’d mariner offer her most tempestuous prayers to? Freedom! Freedom! Freedom!

    Judge It’s only a bloody parking offence.

    It was one of those moments when things change. I discovered years ago that Cross made a pencil that took 0.5mm leads, the kinds so prized by accountants (my secret is out). As a schoolchild, I was always bummed that my pencils became dull so quickly. Also, I didn’t like really hard leads, because they tended to tear the low-grade paper we were practicing our letters on. As a practicing numbers-cruncher I found many makes of pencil using the 0.5mm leads, but they seemed inelegant. Then Cross came along.

    Lana, having not fallen far from the tree, painted herself into a yoga square. Circular distractions of made up tails about burglar bunnies was better than watching paint dry.

    I think that I shall never see

    A poem lovely as a tree.

    A tree whose hungry mouth is prest

    Against the earth’s sweet flowing breast;

    A tree that looks at God all day,

    And lifts her leafy arms to pray;

    A tree that may in Summer wear

    A nest of robins in her hair;

    Upon whose bosom snow has lain;

    Who intimately lives with rain.

    Poems are made by fools like me,

    But only God can make a tree.

    ~ J. Kilmer

    Four random tropes, juxtaposed. Stirred, not shaken.

    Yes, tree images may serve as examples.The larcenous lagomorph is probably too nearsighted to hit any wood in the forest across the way, let alone “you.” So, you may indeed remain unmoved on your cute little yoga mat (I trust purchased from the Froglandia Bath Mat Factory!) by all the folderol, which amounts to nothing more than a Pointless Distraction (lips sealed, so as to not-speak)
.
