I was in a Target store many years ago when they still carried pets. They had received a shipment of parakeets that somehow got loose. I showed the clerk how to use a dishcloth as a net to catch them. Got a laugh out of it.
There’s a company here that sets up netting in the big box stores to catch birds. Especially important if they sell groceries. They really know what to do. Very clever.
She’s great. In my dad’s dime store we sold parakeets. Every now and then one would get loose. We had to close the doors and stalk them with a net. Goldfish and parakeets, once in ever dime store.
Many years ago we had purchased a parakeet from a drug store named “Katz” of all things. It was a mean little thing, too. Never sang sweetly, only squawked in a nasty tone, and would do it’s best to reduce your finger count every time you tried to handle it. We had had enough, but were afraid Katz’ wouldn’t take the bird back, and it was Winter, so we didn’t want to just let it go outside where its life would be snuffed out in a blast of cold air. So my sister, who was old enough to drive then, took the bird back to Katz and simply released it into the store. She then located a sales clerk and called her attention to the loose bird. After catching the bird, the clerk thanked her profusely, and said “We’ve been trying to get that bird back for several days now but it kept escaping.” True story.

Tabby won’t be able to get any work done until someone catches that bird
I hope some else gets it, if Tabby does it could get messy

My coworkers are always so boring. But I suppose they find me boring as well.

At a place I used to work at, a hawk got into the warehouse one day. They had to call in a specialist to do a catch and release.

It’s probably just a turkey that got loose.
