âI donât think lake-effect snow is responsible, but never look a gift horse in the mouth! Iâll get the fryer ready, and you get to cleaninââem!â
The end of my street, overlooking Lake Erie, used to get fish blown onto it during major winter storms. The fronts of the houses would get covered with several inches of ice. One time I stood watching the breaking waves for quite a while. When I turned to head home I found I was also ice-covered. Fortunately it wasnât thick enough to keep me from walking.

The Lake Effect hits east of here harder. If it happened in my neighborhood, there would be a lot of fat stray cats, come spring.
