You know, even writing a bad novel is pretty impressive and admirable. Of course, when I phrase it that way, most people don’t take it as a compliment.
With 173 wires, I would have trouble keeping track of all the colors. Which shade of red did he cut? Maybe all the other wires were shades of blue and there was only one red.
It’s never the color of the wire, that’s just the insulation. It’s what connection(s) the wire makes. Still waiting for the evil genius that uses all the same colored wires or the hero to fall back and say, “They are all striped Red/Green/Blue/White.”
A couple things I never noticed before, the acknowledgement that he’s in a story in panel two and the fact that Andy does seem to be holding the last page in panel 4. The end is nigh.
I love the scene in Goldfinger, near the end when Bond is looking down at the bomb trying to figure out what to do. A scientist leans over his shoulder and flips a switch
This reminds me of the MASH episode where BJ and Hawkeye have to disarm a bomb that landed in the compound and were getting instructions over the radio.

Hey, at least his novel is more plausible than that ludicrous Wilbur overboard story in “Mary Worth”.

Rule for writers: never let friends or family read your manuscript.

Never understood why you have to cut a certain wire. Cutting any wire breaks the circuit.

When the protagonist is in a life or death situation early in a book, where IS the suspense? Surely it isn’t gonna end on page 103. Yawn.

Is she saying noooo because he cut the correct wire and the story will continue?

Makes sense – once the story is over it was read. Roger’s next novel will be set in the 20s, before color TV – he’ll call it….Shades of Gray.
