As in, “…a solemn Phantom, draped and hooded, coming, like a mist along the ground, towards him… Scrooge feared the silent shape so much that his legs trembled beneath him, and he found that he could hardly stand when he prepared to follow it.”
Great one today. In the penultimate scene, Scrooge tells the street urchin to hie himself down to the stationer’s shop for a festive firkin of mucilage. Then it’s off to the Cratchits’!
