For me. I would like my steak to be thick and grilled to the point that there is just a hint of red in the middle. Then I would smother the steak in sautéed onions and mushrooms. With the steak I would have a baked potato or two. Some vegetable, probably corn. With a rich red wine to drink. Desert would be a nice apple pie.
The warden made another faux pas when he served the sauce on a hubcap. When asked for an explanation, he said that he had heard that there was no plate like chrome for the hollandaise.
Ah yes, Filet Mignon for prisoners while we have starving children to take care of… Yep, good use of tax dollars… Oh – and get that OLED 75" tv fixed – the 3D surround isn’t working correctly – and don’t forget to renew the Peloton subscriptions, don’t want the gym rats to miss their workouts…
In my nearly 27 years of working in corrections, the idea of feeding inmates well was used as a management tool in order to keep them from rioting. That doesn’t work either.
I hear Alcatraz had really good food and you could eat as much as you want. It was a discipline strategy, misbehave and you got bread & water while the other inmates got steak.
Wife and I at ONCE at ‘Outback’, we could not eat even the salad as we were only given the ‘House Dressing’ and it was so highly seasoned we couldn’t eat it—also the steaks.. NEVER AGAIN ! ! ! ! !

I would call that being humane, but then I don’t like Hollandaise. I prefer A1 or HP sauce.

Hollandaise sauce on filet mignon should be considered a “crime against humanity”

We know that it is Bernaise sauce the one used for Filet Mignon

Serving lobster to prisoners was once considered cruel.

A good, well-cooked piece of meat doesn’t need a sauce.

I don’t know what Hollandaise is. I’ve never been to Holland…

If it’s really filet mignon, it needs no sauce.

Isn’t it common knowledge filet mignon requires béarnaise sauce, not hollandaise sauce?
