Kane Tanaka of Japan – the world’s oldest person whose age is fully verified – turns 119 today!!! She was 72 years old when the Peanuts strip above was first published in 1975.
Who knew the aftereffects of Covid would be so weird.. Of course, this toon is an oldie as evidenced by the five day reference by Sally, back when Covid was only a biochemist’s fevered dream. Ah, the good ole days.
Then include a lazy postal service that is getting slower all the time and the postmark is so faint that you cant tell if its linus Mailing late of not.
I checked the strip for Oct 31; it was a Sunday strip about Halloween. Oct 30 was Halloween themed, but it focused on Snoopy and Woodstock talking about pumpkins. I think Charlie Brown actually forgot about Halloween for 2021/ 1974. Not that that’s a stretch for him.
I remember this great classic from 47 years ago. It should be printed as a greeting card that could be used by all of us needing to send out late holiday greetings.
Lucy and Sally better start asking if Snoopy, Linus, and Charlie Brown are late or if their getting a jump on New Year’s Eve 1976, Christmas 1975, and Halloween 1975. Seems more the latter.

Why Halloween instead of Valentine’s Day?

Give him a lump of coal from your stocking. That’s pretty much a type of rock.

On top of being that late for Halloween, he isn’t even wearing a costume … at least, I don’t think he is …

Maybe Charlie is early for the next Halloween, a Friday in 1975.

Just hope that Lucy won’t give him any rocks.

First Peanuts strip for Sunday in the 1975 cycle, though New Year’s Day 2022 was 1-2 days ago rather than 5.

Why would Linus still address Christmas cards at the start of the new year? He should be addressing thank you notes for the Christmas gifts he got!
cdillon85 about 3 years ago
At least he isn’t shooting off fireworks.

Lotta guys send out post-Christmas cards. That way, they send just to the ones who sent them something.
