When we think of homeless, we think of the bum standing on the street corner or sleeping on the park bench. Some people will acknowledge “Bag Ladies” and that homelessness is not a uniquely male phenomenon.
Few want to think of entire families, including children living on the street or in cars or tent cities. It’s uncomfortable we don’t want it to be. So we theorize that the homeless are mentally incompetent or drug addicts and that makes their homelessness their fault.
I know a women who lives in her car. She has a job, but minimum wage does not pay the rent. However, “affordable housing” is a radical left, socialist idea and besides who wants THAT kind of person living in THEIR neighborhood?
I’ve decided I’ll do some giving within reason, but I realize I can’t fix the world. They say the Food Bank can make your dollar gift go 5 times as far as you yourself can…

To some in this country, the only “holy family” is their own.
And they manage to screw them over, as well. While screaming “family values!”

This comic reminds me of O. Henry’s “Gift of the Magi.”
