I remember this being one strip I never got when I read it in the collections. Took me a long time to find out it referenced a book called “I Heard the Owl Call My Name”. A book about a priest who is serving in the Northwest woods and hears an owl tell him he hasn’t long to live. Some strips have topical humor that can be obscure today. The Comet Kohotek arc, references to Rodney Allen Rippy, Twiggy etc
