Just remember how great Trump DID NOT make America. It was much better before he started destroying things.

Chip only believes investing money has a payoff if the people who stand to gain already have more than they need.

Comrade Bok, once again, ignores the fact that it was the republigoons that lost the jobs that got the U. S. in this mess to begin with. He also doesn’t want you to know that it was because of a republigoon President and his INEPTITUDE, the death toll from COVID – 19 is as high as it is! Comrade Bok does republigoon masters proud.

The cost will be considerably less than the face value (which is NOT $5 trillion), but not as much as this particular GQPonomist says. And don’t forget, this is a TEN YEAR package. WSJ says that’s going to be a total of $3 trillion, and they’re probably overestimating. The military budget passed this year is for ONE year, and it’s $768 billion. Or $7.68 Trillion over 10 years.

    Firstly it didn’t even pass

How paranoid are they that they still go after something that already passed?

The CBO scored the BBB as costing $5.1T after removing the political accounting gimmicks (e.g. only accounting for one year of an entitlement program that will surely go beyond that time period). It also found that it would add another $3T to the fed debt. The net is most definitely not zero. Given that the CBO rarely gets these things correct and typically comes in low, you have to wonder what the real cost would be.

Does it matter if it costs 5 trillion if.. you get close to 5 trillion dollars worth of improvements.. When the alternative is spending nothing and living with broken bridges.. roads.. power grids…… your choice. Like an old commercial went.. “pay me now or pay me later”.

Who rally believes that investing in the future could pay off? Besides every business, any person capable of planning for retirement, and all countries that have a vision, e.g., China.

I’m sorry. But what was Bok and other Conservatives saying when Trump GOP 2017 Tax Cuts would cost Americans trillions of dollars just to give corporations and wealthy Americans a permanent tax cut? But gawd forbid we spend money on average Americans. Oh and it wouldn’t cost so much if Conservatives and Corporatist politicians didn’t block the tax increases on multi-billion dollar corporations, stock buybacks, and wealth taxes on multi-millionaires and billionaires.

If the republicans had been doing the correct things all along it wouldn’t cost so much.

Biden never claimed it would cost nothing. He claimed it would not require additional debt.

If I buy groceries but pay with my debit card (rather than a credit card), I am not incurring debt. But that doesn’t mean the groceries were free.
