Everything is a poor substitute when your heart is set on a good meal. However, Fred, if they have cheese and biscuits, there’s a good chance you might get a handout, and/or some good floor crumbs you can suck up. Here’s hoping!

What, the pub wasn’t open? That would be my idea of a lovely meal out.

Now that I think about it, I don’t believe I have ever eaten in a restaurant for which I made reservations, and it’s been over 10 years since I was part of a group in which someone else made reservations.

Bummer Fred ! No restaurant leftovers :-(

Cheese with crackers & a glass of wine is what my husband & I usually have on Saturday evenings while watching a movie. It’s our “date night”.

It really is a shame to be disappointed when you’ve gone to the trouble to make reservations … the restaurant should have sent them home with some take away to make up for their mistake.
