I had a “chefs surprise” once. It was a regular meal, just not the “special”. Has anyone ever really gotten a “blue plate” with the blue plate special?
I am confused on “specials.” I think they can either be leftovers that need to be moved pn or something the chef bought in bulk to make a special meal. I do not know how to tell the difference when reading the menu.

“The chef said the surprise is she may not slap you as long as you’re paying!”

The chef’s surprise is that his name is Montezuma.
(Yes, you were expecting Sal Monella. Fooled you, didn’t I?)

Eno would rather have what the Chef got a warning from the health department for.
