We have a cat like Hobbes. Her name is Misty. If I’m sitting, reading, in her favorite chair she will go cry at the window or do something else to get my attention and me out of the chair. Then she hops up into the chair and pretends to go to sleep. I haven’t the heart to push her out — I’ll go find another chair. Then she really does go to sleep.
This reminds me so much of my late cat, who also liked his chairs pre-warmed. I remember even when I’d get up from the computer chair to get a snack or to use the bathroom, when I’d come back I’d find the cat already resting on the chair!
