OK… I’m stumped… again.

Gasp – Inhale suddenly with the mouth open, out of pain or astonishment. It was not astonishing or painful. It was ordinary.

And now Janis looks mad.

“In the club” is (or at least was once) British slang for pregnant. I am pretty sure that isn’t what Arlo means, though.

Janis is definitely a Sweater Girl, ala British tabloids.

I try not to gasp when I see what I look like today!

As I read it, Janis raised her eyebrows, but she did not actually gasp. Whatever Arlo showed her was astonishing but, having been forewarned, Janis was able to refrain from gasping. Perhaps Arlo had not the same self-control.

Who clicks on anything that says something like that? Who clicks on anything they didn’t look up themselves?

I guess Janis isn’t impressed by huge boobs, Arlo.

Whatever it is, Janis is unimpressed and Arlo is disappointed.

Re: Clickbait. I suppose it means different things to different people. To me, it’s something that scrolls by as you are reading an article that tries to get you to click on it. Not necessarily ads or busty women or malware, just something to garner “clicks”. Sometimes, they can be very interesting. When I do get “side-tracked” by one, I call it “Going down the rabbit hole”… ☺
