It may reach endemic status, but it could have been different. If everyone physically able had vaccinated and worn masks, and if rich countries had banded together to make sure everyone in the world got vaccinated as early as possible, we might have wiped it out altogether. Or at least we might have moderated it without the millions of lives lost worldwide.
You do have to love the people trying to blame President Biden for not doing more to end the pandemic, while at the same time resisting doing what President Biden made readily available to help end the pandemic.
Antivaxxers, you could freely make the choice and become part of the solution and get vaccinated.
I wonder if Ernesto heard how his idol, Donald Trump, got booed at his most recent rally when he said he got his vaccine booster. Biden and many others in government and health care are working as hard as they can to fight the virus (and misinformation). Also, the virus itself (according to most experts) will ultimately become endemic (hopefully within the second half of this year) meaning it will be part of the atmosphere (like colds, flu, seasonal allergens, etc.). It will also be a lot less of a threat to the overall population than it is now. I would still be dangerous to the very old or people with severe medical conditions (asthma, diabetes, obesity, etc.) particularly if they’re unvaxxed. But for most of us, the crisis will have passed. They will keep coming out with treatments for Covid, and scientists at Walter Reed will start working soon on a pan Corona vaccine that will target all corona viruses (Covid, SARS, Ebola, even the Common Cold)! So, the future looks pretty bright. We just have to get through the rest of this wave.

It’s going to take a couple of years, but the Covid-19 virus will be just another annoyance like the common cold or the flu.

That’s about right, the PROCOVID people are complaining the most to make Biden look bad and “Own the Libs!”.

I guess the old saying, ‘you can lead a horse to water but you can’t make him’ get vaccinated, means something.

Why just Biden? Trudeau in Canada, Johnson in the UK, Kishida in Japan,…all world leaders are working on eradicating the worldwide pandemic.
