The robot revolution will be when all the computational devices quit simultaneously. Airplanes will fall out of the sky, cars will all stall on the freeway, toasters will all set fire to the bread, phones will ring without being answerable, televisions will all show one 50’s sitcom, radios will play disco music backwards (you may have to listen closely to tell), furnaces will alternately blast hot and cold air, lightbulbs will emit dark energy, and motion detectors will set objects into motion.
Years ago I moved into a new house, and I couldn’t figure out why my computer was frequently crashing. I finally caught on — I’d plugged it into an outlet that was connected to a light switch on the wall!

After working as a programmer for 30+ years, I too am seriously unafraid of that.

When technology gives me problems I blame Evil Spirits, it’s as good of an explanation as I’ve got because I know nothing about tech

He’s lucky he’s not running Linux. Day-to-day patches are almost invisible, but I have to do another O/S upgrade and that takes most of the day.

I’m hoping that, after the robot uprising or the zombie apocalypse or whatever, the change in management makes things better.

Technology IS great when it works. Did you try turning it off and on again?…

Have you tried turning it off, and back on again?
Have you tried removing the last program or update?
Have you tried buying a new computer? It’s been a decade, Larry.
