I bought a copy of “The Steep Approach to Garbadale” by Iain Banks and was in a near-homicidal rage when I discovered that it had been bound WITHOUT THE LAST THIRTY PAGES! It took a couple of weeks to get another edition from a different publisher.

Oh yeah, now I remember. I was reading this book in the privy when I ran out of TP. The story had a crappy ending. Sorry.

I’m trying to figure out what the picture on her mug is supposed to be, some type of atom model or something?

The world’s longest-running play is Agatha Christie’s “The Mousetrap”. It’s been in continuous production in London since 1952. And after the final curtain, the entire cast comes out on stage and begs the audience to keep the ending secret. And, for the most part, contrary to all expectations of human nature, we all have. Next time you’re in London, you get to join the fraternity and learn the secret handshake. It’s worth it.

I once had an idea for a mystery book. The first 1/2 introduces the characters and provides motives, there’s the event, followed by everyone’s alibis. It ends with a dozen empty pages where you create your own ending. It’s designed for book clubs where everyone gets together and discusses their endings.

A new mystery has arisen. Why has Ted and the woman Monty talked to apparently been there for four years. Penal service?

Four years later, Ted isn’t much help, is he?

Make up your own ending, Monty. Think of it as a challenging game….
