Have you ever tried it as peanut butter on toast, then top it with jelly that’s been heated up? A hot PB & J! And then add some banana slices for variation now and then.
If you use the same slice for both, peanut butter first is a near-necessity. Using one for the jelly, t’other for the peanut butter gives you more latitude in sequencing.

Peanut butter under grilled cheese, really helps build up the cholesterol!

If you make it in the morning to eat later, it helps to put the PB on both slices with jelly in the middle. The bread doesn’t get soggy as it sits.

I always put the jelly on first. I just had 1 this morning with my coffee.

When I make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, I put the jelly on first, then skip the peanut butter.

The jelly gets into the peanut butter when you do it that way.

Sorry Bradbrain, Jelly FIRST. That way you keep peanut butter on the knife from getting stuck in the jelly jar.
