I just went ahead and got mine pierced also, didn’t make a big deal out of it, and my hair covered it mostly anyway. My mom didn’t give me any static over it, I was a (mostly) good kid that rarely if ever got in trouble so she put up with the long hair and piercings. My step-father was an aggravating two-hole that would make condescending remarks about it if I happened to breathe the wrong way that day. Every time he did, I’d steal half the cigarettes out of any open pack he had lying around. Never got caught for that.
