Got an email from our Community Sun City coordinator. We have had 322 cases of Covid here in Sun City since Jan 1. 125 were after the New Year’s eve party. 15 were after the Bocce Ball Tournament. 18 were after the Mah Jong Tournament. The rest were from assorted classes and the 3 Community Centers where there are assorted dance classes, Tai Quan Do, Fencing practice and 4 pools.

" it’s not over just because you want it to be over" ……sheesh.

    Today is:

    National Daisy Day

National Fun At Work Day. I’m having LOT more fun NOT being at work. Too bad it’s my last day of freedom. I go back to work on Saturday.

    Data Privacy Day

    National Blueberry Pancake Day

    National Kazoo Day

National Big Wig Day. Putting the “fun” in fundraising while bringing awareness to a cause close to many hearts, National Big Wig Day™! on the last Friday in January, gives everyone an opportunity to play an important role, the role of the Big Wig. National Big Wig Day™! is both an expression of the potential inside of all of us and an entertaining opportunity to positively impact the lives of others. Roll up your sleeves and grab a few friends because that always makes it more enjoyable and the journey more exciting. But whatever you do, bring your Big Wig with you. Because we all have one inside us, and even Big Wigs need to have fun!

National Gift Of The Ladybug Day. This day has nothing to do with ladybugs. I looked it up and found this: “National Gift of the Ladybug Day on January 28th honors all children with critical illnesses. The day is also an opportunity to raise awareness of childhood illnesses and support the children and the families facing medical differences. The book The Gift of the Ladybug by Carole Mac follows the story of a family of horses who discover their child is a ladybug and will not live very long. The ladybug reassures the horses by saying, “I am a ladybug! I don’t know how to be a horse. I only know how to be a ladybug.” Every day, hundreds of families receive a diagnosis that puts their child’s life in danger. The ladybug serves as the perfect symbol of a child faced with a critical illness. Her life may be short, but she’s perfect just the way she is. The beautiful ladybug captures our imaginations and gives us a reason to celebrate.”

My insurance carrier totaled my Prius yesterday. It seems that one of the chair legs that got up under the car damaged the hybrid battery pack, and that pushed it over the top for them.

I’m getting just over $5,000 from them to replace the car.

    Right.

Since i’m going to go into debt anyway i’ve decided to try to find a plug-in of some kind that i might be able to afford. .

Sigh. What was better than a big bowl of Frosted Flakes when we were kids, had to eat them fast before they got soggy.

Who’d have thought Lily would be cuckoo for Cocoa Puffs? On another note, saw a crow and a varied thrush on my way home from work today and a junco and a rabbit while out walking today.

Well my 3rd fix of my computer allowed it to work right 1 day.(yesterday) Today it again refuses to scroll through content. I am on my smart phone now and content is tiny. I guess I will have to give up and take my computer to the repair shop. Also considering getting a tablet. But I have loved my big monitor that allows me to see quite well. Sigh. And, yes, my first fix was a new battery in my mouse. It worked correctly 1 day. A week later I tried updating all Dell updates. It worked 1 day, and went back to not moving easily through content. Yesterday I updated to win 11 and updated everything it suggested. It took all day. Last night it worked perfectly. Today, it is a frustrating mess. Does my computer have the soul of a cat?
