In about two weeks they’ll be holding a grueling winter race called the Frozen Snot. near where I live – https://www.thefrozensnot.com/about Make sure you scroll down and see the picture of the lunatics, I mean – participants – navigating those snow-covered rocks. I’ll be inside with warm drinks, a cozy blanket, and a good book.
We are having a snow storm right now, here in NYC. I’m looking outside as the snow is blowing sideways and looks like about 10 inches, has fallen…so far! So, this would qualify as a nice and normal day, in North Dakota, huh? ; )
Email from the Eastern Seaboard….from a local message board:
I often wondered how my parents handled boredom during days long New England snowstorms and before the internet. I asked my 18 brothers and sisters and they didn’t know either.
But you don’t have to worry about ‘snot-cicles’ in your whiskers. Even when they appear to melt away back indoors, you just know ‘the stuff’ is still in there.
I won’t feel as embarrassed now when that happens to me. I realized today that I can fold a tissue and put inside my mask if I have to sneeze. Only took almost 2 years.

It’s been so dry with the cold that I have no moisture left in my whole body to produce any.

Nothing between North Dakota and the North Pole except for barbed wire fences (and most of them are down).

It’s raining iguanas in parts of Florida. When the temperature gets in the 40’s they just fall out of the trees.
