So I guess Mr. Ramirez thinks making it harder for segments of the population to vote is equality. 95 year old WWII veteran in TX has been denied mail-in ballot twice. I assume Mr. Ramirez approves. Can’t have equity can we??

It should be the land of equal opportunity not land of equitable opportunity.

Equality: “the state of being equal, especially in status, rights, and opportunities.”Equity: "the quality of being fair and impartial. “equity of treatment”So basically you have no idea of what the words mean, and your implied statement of equity is bull. Learn the language eh?

When you start with a grossly faulty assumption, your attempt at logic is insulting

Mike, does that mean when there is an election you think all contenders should start at the same point and when someone wins you will accept that its not always the contender you wanted? Can you draw a ’toon like Bok did?

In reality, neither exists. Each individual has to find his/her own way.

To think that everyone starts out equal in life is an insane assertion. There are many arguments to be made about self-determination, what somebody can make of the lot they are given, and how to overcome obstacles to succeed, but to claim we all start out the same is plain ignorant.

If all were given equal opportunities, this cartoon might make sense. But if you are a kid growing up in a tenement, so hungry that you are munching on lead filled paint chips, no. Some of those cars have a couple flat tires.

Republicans think equality is giving tax breaks to billionaires and making the middle class pay for it.

Mr. Ramirez. Please explain to us how things would be better/different if the Trump administration were still in office. Or even if the current batch of “Republicans” were running things. Thanks!

The law, in its majestic equality, forbids rich and poor alike to sleep under bridges, beg in the streets, and steal a loaf of bread.

Yeah, if you’re unable to get out from under a mountain of college debt, well, you just made the wrong choice. You should have gotten a job instead.

If you have a job and cannot get ahead, well, you just made the wrong choice. You should have gone to college so you could get a good income.

    .

Either that, or you should have picked different parents. WTH is wrong with you, anyway?

Equality is the American success plan. Equity is the Democrat failure plan.

As usual, Michael hit the nail squarely on the head. In America the opportunities are limited only by your willingness to work hard, produce results and succeed. Those that chose not to do it will fall behind but it’s not America’s fault. It’s the individual’s fault.

Equality is everybody racing has a car. Equity is everybody racing has a racecar.

Yes, that IS how it works. Equality means equal opportunity. Equity means everyone finishes last with participation trophies for all.

And your choice of analogies is interesting. Why would you be driving 20mph over the limit? In other words, instead of trying to somehow equalize the sting of the penalties: “If you can’t do the time, don’t do the crime”.
