Poor excuse, Yeti. You showed him no consideration at all. Daisy would treat Yeti the same way, but he might not get the chance, now that Ferret is holding a gun on his sister and him.

I wasn’t sure Ferret would get involved.

No fair !  There was never any prior indication that Ferret packed although it is only reasonable that she should. Ape would hold a gun facing in the opposite direction and what a mess that would be. Ferret has just redeemed her so-so dynamic duo ….. for now.

“He left your brother to die? He actually KILLED my brother. Nobody offs Yeti but me!!”

Always figured Ferret for a .44 Magnum kinda girl.

Like I said, this got interesting!

I did say that this would be a good time for Ferret to reveal her weapon. I doubt anyone trusts Ape with a gun. Ferret’s awfully close to Rose, though. She could disarm Ferret like Tracy did Mumbles.

Well, the first part went as I thought….now let’s see Tracy and Catchem tell them all to drop their guns….

Only Ape will remain alive after the shootout.

So Daisy and Rose were planning just to put Yeti in agony and maim (rather than kill) him? LOL

Oh I get it – Ferret wants to be the one who kills Yeti, to revenge her brother Rabbit :)

Something went missing from Rose’s gun.

Well done illustrations accent the mood of the storyline. As Daisy’s sister, the character design of Rose complements the more realistic design of Daisy rather than the cartoony design of Ape or the more grotesque design of Yeti and Ferret. Shelley keeps getting better and better.

Oh, I get it now.

There has always been bad blood between the Dooley family, who name all of their children after burrowing animals; the Dugan family, who name all of their children after flowers; and the Abominable family, who name all of their children after monstrous primates. (Ape is Yeti’s nephew whom he was forced to hire to keep peace with his own sister, Orangutan.)

It is a real Romeo and Juliet story. The feud heated up when Groundhog Dooley charmed Skunkweed Dugan away from her boyfriend Proboscis Abominable and…well, the rest is history.

The, “Eyes” have it!

1-AL: LOOK! I have a single shot, inaccurate weapon! Now that you are aware of that, you’ll probably want to run for your lives. Right?

2-DAISY HAFCRAZY: Ehh, I like our odds. OK, on the count of 3, smile and Rose will take a dozen or so “snap shots”. HEH HEH! I came up with that one when I had all that time to kill in the sewer. And rats to kill – before they ate me.

3-FERRET: PUT ‘EM UP! PUT ‘EM UP! CITIZEN’S ARREST! CITIZEN’S ARREST!

AL: I knew your love for me would come through! Or was it the promise to triple your salary? No matter, I’M SAVED AND NOTHING IN THE WORLD CAN RUIN THIS MOMENT OF EXQUISITE JOY! NOT A SINGLE THING…

I so want tomorrow’s first panel to be Sam saying Drop It to Ferret who is saying Drop It to Yeti. That would just make my year.

What will tomorrow’s panels bring? Ferret, " I said drop it". Rose: " I am aimed at your boss, you really want to do this"? Daisy could swing his cane at Ferret, if he misses he falls flat on his face. Yeti tries to dust off Rose, she ducks. He hits Ferret instead. Then Ape comes out from hiding. Rose, while in the prone position shoots him in both knees. Then on second thought the generator could go out and wild shots are being thrown in the dark. When power is restored the only one left standing is Ape. He is arrested, does his time and goes into partnership with Pouch to sell balloons.

Shades of Reservoir Dogs! Add Sam and Tracy and it’s a classic Mexican standoff.

Shelley’s variety of facial expressions and camera angles enliven the strip. Tiny Ferret has drawn her pistol and challenges the much bigger Rose Dugan; not so sure it was smart of her to approach so close to Rose.

Meanwhile, everyone may be coming down with colds: their breath is visible in every case. The storm drain is not a healthy place to be! Sunday’s surprise should be the entrance of Sam and Tracy, their guns drawn.

Will there actually be a shootout? If so, who lives and who dies? Or (to sanitize the strip for sensitive readers and TCA editors), will all this bluster end not with a bang but a whimper? (Apologies to Mr. Eliot.)

You better cut Groucho’s nails short,it’s getting kinda crowded in here.
