It doesn’t work that way, you are just gathering more food (uneaten insects) for the next generation to move in.

I’ve heard it said, you are never any more than 8 feet from a spider.

They have conventions, assemblies. It’s like Sturgis. And they have these all-work events where they all share notes and tips. They have break-out sessions too, like “Picking out real estate. Location, location, location”, and “What’s your prey?”

i keep explaining to the spiders that build their web across the path that i’d probably go bad before they finished eating me, but they still insist on building their web right where i’m going to walk into it…

Entomologist try to tell you that spiders are good for your home – eat other “bad” bugs. Load em up and take em to their homes. Twits. Anything in my home that isn’t human is dead meat. I don’t keep pets inside. Out out.

I’ve never understood why so many people fear spiders. They are really more helpful than harmful.

The International Cartoon Spider Leg Counting Society deems the spider in today’s comic to be inauthentic as it has only 6 legs.

I don’t allow any perceived spiders or insects to co-exist with me. And I know now from experience that if you keep your place clean, and don’t leave unused foodstuffs (banana peels, etc.) laying out, there will be less of them invading you…

If my dear mom was still alive, I would have put this comic on her refrigerator. My mom would destroy brooms trying to kill spiders.

It’s amazing how irrational fear drives people to hate harmless and beneficial insects, even in such a supposedly modern and enlightened society. I’m not wild about spiders, but I have come to understand and respect their place in the ecosystem.

Outside I leave spiders alone, except the time a tool crib at work was full of Black Widows.

Some world leaders are convinced, too – but it’s not spiders what they kill

I have a favorite post I like to share but since I can’t post the pic I’ll tell you what it says:

“She asks me to kill the spider, instead I grab the most peaceful weapon I can find. I take a cup & a napkin. I catch the spider, put it outside & allow it to walk away…If I am ever caught in the wrong place at the wrong time, just being alive & not bothering anyone, I hope that I am greeted with the same kind of mercy” -Rudy Francisco

For most people, the robin is the harbinger of spring. In my neck of the woods, seeing a huge wolf spider in the garage means winter is over. Happy Spring, everybody!

As it starts to warm up I wonder the same thing about snakes. Having horses helps as the snakes at not keen on the hooves.

Careful of what you set in motion, Aunty. Remember that Batman got his start after someone killed his parents.
