Again, about 10 years ago, Richard posted a blog entry introducing this week’s artist. Since the comment I posted here 3/9 pointed what’s in his blog, the GoComics Moderator deleted it (perhaps before you visited that day), saying it violated the Comment Policy “(6) link off-site” restriction.
My replacement comment there directs the reader to the March, 2012, blog entries, where the A Visit to the Library (that comment was about) link is; so, I won’t repeat those directions here. Go to the blog and click the This Week’s Cul de Sacs link above (they’re in reverse chronological order) the A Visit to the Library link in that list to read this blog entry.
Agreed! So…this is a true story. When I was very little, about 4 I think, my mother and I were outside at night and she pointed up at the sky and said, “There’s the big bear, and there’s the little bear.” Of course she meant constellations, but I took a quick look at the night sky and for YEARS after that I was afraid to look up at the sky at night because I was afraid there was really a bear up there and I hadn’t seen it so it must be hiding and MIGHT JUMP OUT AND EAT ME!
March went out like a lion; A-whippin’ up the water in the bay; Then April cried and stepped aside; And along came pretty little May!; May was full of promises; But she didn’t keep ‘em quick enough for some; And a crowd of Doubtin’ Thomases; Was predictin’ that the summer’d never come…
This reminds me of our then 5 or 6 year old son who was on T-ball, when I told him that we were going to an opening day ceremony for the town, … and I said that he wasn’t playing that day, but people made speeches, and he said he didn’t want to go… and when I asked him why, he said that he he didn’t have anything to say!

This was good for a two belly laughs, my wife and I. Anybody know who Pierce is, who drew this strip back then?

Next she’ll be talking about April showers and cats and dogs. Life can be confusing for a four year old, not to mention a bit of a let down.
Alice if you want to know what a metaphor is, just think of Kevin’s head.

Live and learn, Alice. That is The Name of the Game (which is not a game; but that’s another lesson for another day)….

I think this would be an excellect place to guide everyone’s attention to a sparkling example of Richard Thompson’s poetic genius;
