It always amazes me how people add details to these miraculous stories over time.
I know someone who did CPR on her husband while an ambulance was coming. Two days later her story included feeling angels helping her. A few days more she added the spirit of her mother guiding her hand. Over time details kept getting added. Sign and portents in the sky from God beforehand that gave her peace and prepared her for the trial that was coming when she did her morning prayers, hearing her mother’s voice while giving CPR that her husband would survive, a week beforehand someone in a store telling her to be strong and trust God’s plan….and her mother’s spirit waiting (and hugging her) in the emergency room waiting room.
This may be a comic, but the story line is something that probably has happened in true life to someone. I truly believe that our family members who have passed to the other side are watching over us and sometimes are able to warn us of danger or literally move us away from danger before it happens. I have had that happen in my life and I have spoken to people who have had similar experiences where an unseen someone intervened in warning or physically doing something to prevent that person being harmed.
Interesting thought by Joe. People can be so assertive in their belief that they leave no room for another alternative. What do you say when you don’t want to come across as a jerk? I know there is a God, and this makes me sensitive to people who do not believe in Him.
It is amazing how the backbrain can take over when the rest of the brain is freezing, trying to deal with the danger. I once fell while cliff climbing and to this day I still don’t remember how I managed to twist around so I fell my back to the cliff. It did save my life as I landed on a rock slanted down and slid down it instead of flipping backward and smashing my head on it, but I can’t remember the turn. One second my fingers slip and the next I am looking at the air (I was roped so my fall was stopped).

It wasn’t her dad who swerved her at the last second.
It was Robb, the artist. ;-)

Just don’t say anything that leaves you with your foot in your mouth!

Proper response: big smile with surprise face, big hug, and say “I had no idea. I’m so glad you’re ok.”
