I get that Will Smith’s actions were inexcusable. Fine. But I do think the reaction (a 10-year ban) has been overblown. Why? First, because to the best of my knowledge, he’s never done anything like this before. Second, Chris Rock was making fun of his wife’s medical condition, and it had visibly hurt her. I don’t condone any violence, but neither should we ever condone mocking someone else’s appearance — especially when it’s due to a medical condition or something they can’t do anything about.

did everyone in the world know about her disease prior to the Oscars. I didn’t, but I did know about their open marriage. Life does not revolve around them and I can’t fault Chris Roack for it if he wasn’t aware of it. That family has their issues, from the parents to the kids and I wish they were not in the news either. Same for the Kardishians
