As I mentioned yesterday, as a child I read this comic and asked my mom what it meant. To tell the truth, I don’t remember what she told me, and I still don’t quite understand.

The SPANISH version of this Peanuts strip ends with Snoopy thinking:

    “Eso es verdaderamente desmortivador.”

    or

    “That is truly disheartening.”

    - Which makes a bit more sense to me – er – kinda-sorta.

I would assume that it means that he associates “heating pad” with comfort. With the fake bricks washed off, his fear of the Big Bad Wolf is back, and so he is no longer comfortable.

It’s just a phrase that signals annoyance. Like saying, “That really grinds my beans” or “Wouldn’t that chap your hide” or “That makes me want to kick puppies.” Doesn’t really MEAN anything but that the person is annoyed.

So this explains it! For years I always wondered why my heating pad becomes unplugged every time it rains so hard that the roof shingle lines are washed away??

So much for Lucy’s idea (if you didn’t see yesterday’s “Peanuts”, you should see it)!

We had a doberman who sat on the doghouse like Snoopy. Never did go inside of it. Of course the cats liked to sit with her too.
