The senior leaders of the House and Senate Republicans aren’t senile, just living in the past.

From what I have seen over the past few decades, I’m thinking she is ripe for a nomination for President.

Is this cartoon series referencing a real-life figure?

Dementia and Alzheimer’s is very hard and frustrating for everyone involved. I read this sometime ago:

Do Not Ask Me to Remember

Do not ask me to remember,Don’t try to make me understand,Let me rest and know you’re with me,Kiss my cheek and hold my hand.I’m confused beyond your concept,I am sad and sick and lost. All I know is that I need youTo be with me at all cost.Do not lose your patience with me,Do not scold or curse or cry.I can’t help the way I’m acting,Can’t be different though I try.Just remember that I need you,That the best of me is gone,Please don’t fail to stand beside me,Love me ’til my life is done.- Owen Darnell

These strips DO NOT have to be rerun. Alzheimer’s IS NOT funny. I don’t know who makes the decision about that, but Trudeau needs to wake up to the pain that decision is causing and put a stop to it.

Repeating my comment from yesterday: Five (now four) more days of these depressing Alzheimer’s jokes, then on Sunday, June 5th, we should return to Mike and Kim. But since Sundays are replaced with original contemporary work you’ll have to go to https://www.gocomics.com/doonesbury/1997/06/22 for that.

Only if you let them see it. Been hiding it from my kids but my students figured it out pretty darn quick. Not fun and only funny in hindsight.

My dad had Dementia, one of the hard things to deal with was as it progressed, his filters went away. He spent his childhood in the deep south in the 1940’s.

I was a coward and did it long distance. Used my mother’s savings to keep her in a home in Texas while I lived in Virginia. Guilt ? yes but I had a young son to raise too.

I can think of far more deserving candidates for memory loss than Dear Lacey.
