Does the difference impact my unemployment compensation?

Been there, had that done to me.

Well at least he knows not to hope that he may get called back some day.

What a circus.

Fired, laid off, right sized, reorganized, redundant – I’ve heard them all.

It all boils down do, “We’ve found someone in India who is willing to do your job for one tenth the salary.”

The good news about being an exceptional employee is that you get pay raises.

The bad news is eventually you get too expensive to keep.

A one man lay off while they’re hiring.

I gave notice of my retirement at the end of the year. I also said that if there was a lay-off, to let me go so a younger person could keep their job. Well, we had a lay-off, but they didn’t let me go. A younger person lost their job and I didn’t get any severance pay because retiring was considered quitting.

When a Boss said to me, we are you go letting after a year and a half since “you seem to have lost interest”. I said: I lost interest after the 2nd week I was there

If you’re fired in this state, you might not get unemployment insurance. If laid off, it’s just a two week wait to kick in.

Downsized, cutbacks, position consolidation, etc. It still stings.

“Either way, get out.”

Ah, then you’ll understand if I tuck a sprig of mistletoe in me back pocket for you then?

Not a problem as l will get unemployment pay for the foreseeable future. Thanks….

Yeah, that sounds sooooooo much better.

I reached the highest level of machine operator at the company. Than they changed the grading so the level 5 could no longer be obtained. Soon I was gone.
