For a while my daughter worked as a cashier at a local grocery store, and occasionally an item would not ring up. She got so tired of the “I guess it must be free” line, and even more so of those who thought they were the first ones in the history of the world to have made such an observation.

Yeah. A frequent annoying customer once asked me if I wanted to hear a joke. I said “NO”. He told his joke anyway. It was not funny. Of course, he got mad at me cuz I didn’t laugh.

And don’t get me started about your choice of store to buy these things at.

But that machine is the one that suggested these curtains in the targeted ad receipt the last time I was in here!

Just another machine behaving like a human.
