I just love it when Brian Crane puts the cat, Muffin in this comic strip. It gives an insight on how it would be if cats thought like this (though I know I will be told it is only a comic strip).
We has a cat that was once a feral cat. One day, he decided he wanted to be a housecat, pushed his way in, and became a housecat. We let him out, but he just guarded the yard and wouldn’t leave the yard.
I have had cats that got to enjoy the perfect mix of lifestyles. I picked a suburban area with five empty lots within one block. My cats would sleep on my bed at night, go walking with me in the morning at dawn, then spent their days hunting and exploring. Kirby (shown as my avatar) was the cuddliest, most gentle cat in the world and absolute death to gophers.

In some ways, this cat mirrors what is a problem with many humans…not appreciating how blessed we truly are.

Just enjoy being a pampered housecat. All kitties should be.

Downside of being a feral cat? Lifespan of about 2 years.

Cats instinctively know it’s better in than out.

Careful, Pickles. You can’t let her know you’re enjoying it too much.

Opal…pls quit letting Muffin outside. It is dangerous out there!! Indoor cats live longer and have less stress.

I bet if one did a good job of scaring that critter, one could get it to hang from the ceiling.
