I so miss grilling and smoking can’t wait to move out of this apartment and into a house but with the uncertainty of the current economy I’m not sure I’ll be able to do that!

Yeah, sorry, I’ve been camping too many years to have any love for charring meat to inedibility over open flames. Gimme a Coleman stove if I’m going to be cooking outside.

“hunt and gather”…that would mean going to the grocery store and find the best piece of meat available…

I’m really in the mood for some grilled meat now.

A pretty grill is like a melody.

These days a man needs 3 grills. A charcoal grill, a smoker, and one of those green egg things. :-)

Mr. Hinds…in Texas we smoke meats, slowly over low heat, smoke flowing from the fire box in a very controlled manner…not grill, not char….now where were you born and live?

I occasionally watch Steven Reichlin. My problem with him is he likes really rare meat. Meat should be cooked through, until the inside is brown!

Most men are hopeless in the kitchen. But give them a stick, a hunk of raw meat and open flame; and suddenly they’re Wolfgang Effin’ Puck.

I have a grill. My wife bought it for me. I use it seldom. I’m too lazy.

Kosher Delis have the best smoked meats. They are just following the old testament animal sacrifice rituals.

Hunt once a week or so for the men. Gather continuously for the women. I think this is a fair distribution of labour.

I think the ladies did the “gathering”, while the menfolk were out trying to convert animals into a non-living state (for convenience). And it’s disputable that “all men” want to do outdoor cooking. It’s certainly the case that not “all men” are any good at it.
