The best cartoon I ever saw on this theme was by Gary Larson. It showed a scientist at a blackboard. At the top it read, “And God said” this was followed by an entire blackboard of derivations and at the bottom it read, “and then there was light.”
One definition of science that I’ve heard is that it is man’s attempt to figure out how God does things.
After all His claims (or at least those made in His name) about being the Supreme Being, I am less than impressed. This is even more disheartening than the times I learned the truth about Santa Claus and the Tooth Fairy.
