I think you kitties better stop trying to see the movies on Oliver’s eyelids and concentrate instead on the movies on your own eyelids. Happy dreams, everyone!
And speaking of kitties, I finally got a glimpse of garage cat’s belly yesterday. As I suspected, she is a nursing mommy cat. I don’t know if her kittens have been fully weaned yet, but with her nipples hanging as they were, it looked like she might still be nursing them. The kittens still are pretty small. But anyway, this makes it official. She is a girl and from now on, her name is Annie, named for our Annie here. My Annie has a tough job looking out for her babies, just as Annie in this strip faces challenges of her own caring for her ten cats. I saw Annie yesterday, but did not see the kittens at all. I heard them, though, as they were in one of their hiding spots under the stairs.
I always have the most interesting dreams, but the reoccurring one is : I’m in a beach town somewhere and I’m taking a short UT through a stand of trees. I never get anywhere, just walking thru this urban forest…forever, or until I wake up.
NATIONAL TAKE BACK THE LUNCH BREAK DAY. There’s been an increasing trend to take less frequent and shorter lunch breaks, affecting employee morale and well-being. According to a 2017 study commissioned by Tork, an Essity brand, employees who take lunch breaks are more likely to report being efficient at work and satisfied with their jobs. However, once they are on the job, the average lunch break is less than 30 minutes for more than half of North American workers – barely enough time to purchase a meal, let alone enjoy it.That is why Tork created National Take Back the Lunch Break Day to help improve workplace morale, satisfaction, and productivity across North America.
I will be honest here. On pleasant days when I eat my lunch outside, I tend to take a little more than my allotted 1 hour lunch break. Sometimes, I just don’t feel like going back to work. I’m off the clock, so it doesn’t hurt anything if I take an extra ten minutes to chill and relax before going back to work.
NATIONAL TAKE YOUR DOG TO WORK DAY. I don’t have a dog, but if I did, I wouldn’t want to take it to work with me. And no, I wouldn’t substitute any of my cats either.
Last night I attended a most interesting movie/presentation/discussion of the universe by a doctor of theoretical astrophysics from Cal Tech in Pasadena. After the show he set up a telescope and we were able to get some excellent views of a few galaxies and a star that had exploded and was still in it’s blue and yellow state. He was very engaging and brought it down to a level that I could mostly understand. And I won a yearly subscription to an interesting layman’s magazine all about the universe.
Sorry, kitties, only Oliver can see the movie. Hopefully, you can get refunds on those tickets. On another note, saw seven robins, two sparrows, two Wilson’s warblers, and a junco while out walking today.
