Also keep Rover off the path. If it’s too hot for you, then it’s too hot for your dog.

Running for the ice lollies bare-foot was a feat that ended in sore feet.

Ha! Brings back memories…we could hear the music on the next street so we ran and got our money and patiently waited by the curb….I also remember how hot the sidewalks were, too! OUCH!

And assume Red WILL lick and eat that popsicle after using it to cool his dirty feet.

One sultry summer in Chatham NJ I heard the sound of an ice cream vendor. Loved the twin ‘bomb popsicles’. Had a siren attached to the frame next to front tire. Pull a chain & it rubbed against the tire. Almost sounded like a cop car. Chased the vendor down nearly a block away. A crowd of other kids in the neighborhood heard the siren & followed me. Vendor really liked my act!

That’s something we never had in my small hometown when growing up. Instead, we’d pedal our bicycles to the nearest Mom and Pop stores that prolifereted our blocks. In fact, I live right next to one and would walk across the driveway and into their back door. I even worked there as a kid doing small things for them.

I have heard of quite a few dogs who have burned their paws this summer. I am always checking how hot the pavement is before we walk a paved trail at a park we go to. I have at times tried to get my dog to walk in the grass but he won’t walk in it long so I make sure we walk back into the woods.
