All images of the precious Buckles are great again today , that " smile " in the circle , plus the fifth one with the ears and his paws pointing up , and his expression with his friend Arden in the last panel are just " lovable " : )
That reminds me of the one Calvin and Hobbes comic strip, where in the aftermath of getting a haircut, Calvin asked his mom if the barber wrote a message on the back of hair to let people know that he may have bad a haircut, but anyone who sees it is downright ugly, and when told no by his mom, Calvin angrily went back to the barber demanding his tip back.
Buckles is so expressive and I think if most dogs could talk they would make it pretty clear they really don’t enjoy the groomer visits. I am lucky that beagles just need a toenail clipping (as I call it, a pedi pedi) once in a while. They really don’t even need a bath. We walk in the rain, and I dry her with a microfiber towel, and she never has the wet dog smell. None of my beagles have had it. They just smell different than most dogs. People will ask if she just had a bath, that she is so soft and smooth, and I will say, “Yeah, it rained yesterday, didn’t it?” Pretty much she will get one bath a year during one of her pedi pedis. I recently forced myself to clip dewclaws, and she was good with it, so I might not ever need to take her to a groomer again. I will take her in the shower with the 6’ hose once in a while, though, and give her a good bath just because.

Does a bow on a dog equate to a sucker for a kid? Asking for a friend, I think she would prefer the sucker, beef flavored.

Hilarious…especially the bow in Buckles’ hair in the last panel.
