Sterling is quiet. Isn’t that all you can really hope for here, Mom?

It’s in St. Augustine Florida. The water still tastes the same as it did 500 years ago.

I still teach middle school students and I’m like fifty years older than they are. Every year I have to go tgrough the “How old are you” thing.

And the gap just keeps getting wider. They never age and I get older every year.

Just proves age is relative and when you’re a kid all relatives are aged.

Yes, you will be. However, I would definitely settle for the fountain of middle age if given the choice. But alas, my fate is sealed and I am just anticipating the next journey which lies not too far ahead….

My uncle laughs at his younger self. Back in the 1960’s, he was a new sci-fi fan. 1999, 2000, 2001 were the hot years for many a comic, book, and movie. He naturally wanted to see these amazing years with his own eyes, but a quick bit of arithmetic showed he’d be 40 years old! (Emphasis on “old”) Whew! It ‘d be a squeaker, but MAYBE he’d be alive!

I remember playing pretend with my brother and he’d always say he was like 45 in our games and I would just say a few years older then I was. He always argued kids can’t do anything so we should be grown ups but I always quietly thought since we were pretending anyway what did it matter?

I’m still 24 in my head. Unfortunately, my knees disagree.

I recall one of the kids in my 2nd year in high school called one of the young female teachers (out of earshot, of course) a geezer, hahahah. She was in her mid 20s, btw.

I did not think I was old until I was talking to a single mom with a Master’s Degree I was on a date with and realized that she was less than half my age. She is older than half my age now but she already ended the relationship.
